A Message from the Director

As the new Director of the Coady International Institute and Vice President, International Development for StFX, I am honoured to have the opportunity to build on the tremendous work done by previous directors and staff.

While considering the opportunity, I contacted several people around the world to get their feedback on the Institute. In all cases, the Coady Institute's reputation for quality was evident, with many stating their Coady experience had changed their lives. The responses spoke volumes about the impact of the Coady Institute and its potential to be a force for change.

This is an exciting time for the organization. New initiatives, including the Indigenous Women in Community Leadership program, the International Centre for Women's Leadership, and an expanded suite of educational programs that meet the needs of our participants, continue to position the Coady Institute as a unique, world class leader in community-based, citizen-driven development education.

I plan to build on this momentum and take the organization to new levels in all of its key activity areas, while remaining strongly rooted in the values of the Antigonish Movement- values that speak to the power of community and the limitless potential that can be unleashed by education. It is these values, which I share deeply, that attracted me to the Coady Institute.
