Wherever we live, in rural or urban settings, centre or periphery, the dynamics between natural resources and people raise concerns in our world today. Thus, we need to better understand the reciprocity between the status of our development and the state of our environmental resources. This multidisciplinary course is designed to develop your understanding and skills related to community-based natural resource management (CBNRM). You will have an opportunity to explore approaches and issues relating to the sustainable use of natural resources for the purpose of community (economic) development. The course will also help you develop a critical understanding of the appropriateness of the principles and methods discussed in different cultural and geographical contexts.
