Scholarships Available
The Coady International Institute at St. Francis Xavier University is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities for Canadian First Nations, Métis, or Inuit individuals currently working full-time in the field of community development. These Scholarships will enable a Canadian First Nations, Métis, or Inuit individual to take any of the Institute’s Certificate courses or the Diploma in Development Leadership. Each of these programs provides a unique opportunity for a Canadian development practitioner to learn alongside experienced development leaders from around the world. Scholarships are available for the following programs:

Our Diploma in Development Leadership program: July 23 - December 2, 2012
The Coady International Institute's 19-week Diploma in Development Leadership provides a framework for just and sustainable development based on a participatory, bottom up, holistic approach. Its overall purpose is to strengthen the capacity of development leaders to effectively motivate and support people in the development of their communities and societies.
Applicant criteria
Scholarships are available for Canadian First Nations, Métis, or Inuit individuals currently working full-time in the field of community development.
Applicants should possess:
- Experience in community-based development.
- Ability to work and learn in a cross-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to local and global development issues, with a focus on the disempowered.
- Bachelor level education preferred. Exceptions can be made for candidates with considerable work experience.
The Institute encourages female applicants, and those from Northern communities.
