Information Communications Assistant


Host Organization: Eastern Caribbean Trading Agricultural Development Organization/ Caribbean Farmers Network (ECTAD/CaFAN)
Country: Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Position Description:
  • Conduct a communications needs assessment of partner organizations in 12 countries
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation of communications tools with partner organizations
  • Assist in development of CaFAN newsletter and other publications
  • Maintain CaFAN website in order to disseminate resource materials to relevant stakeholders
  • Update and maintain CaFAN database
  • Support CaFAN position paper, and strategic plan
  • Represent the organization at meetings
  • Assist in preparation of annual reports
  • Assist in organizing meetings
  • Conduct farm visits

Qualifications:
 
  • Background in marketing, business or information technology (IT)
  • Interest in agriculture and farmers' rights
  • Interest in community development
  • Strong skills in using ICT tools
  • Web design and management skills
  • Information management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Database management skills
 
Host Organization Details: The intern will work with ECTAD/CaFAN to develop a cohesive communications and networking strategy for members of the ECTAD/CaFAN network - over 22 farming organizations in 12 Caribbean countries. The intern’s assistance in communication management will strengthen the already established network of over 18 villages and associated small farm families, who comprise the CaFAN membership. By gathering primary data at the level of communities, the intern will assist in establishing, monitoring and evaluating the use of traditional and innovative communication tools for the farmers’ network.
