Marketing and Training Assistant

Position Description
 
  • Conduct an assessment of local farmers' produce in relation to buyers needs
  • Conduct farm visits
  • Develop marketing strategy for farmers' produce
  • Assist ECTAD marketing officer with marketing
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation of workshops
  • Assist in documentation of information in newsletters
  • Represent the organization at meetings
  • Assist in preparation of ECTAD Strategic plan and annual reports

  • Background in marketing or business
  • Interest in agriculture and farmers' rights
  • Interest in community development
  • Information management skills
  • Facilitation skills
  • Research and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
 
Host Organization Details: The intern will work to assist in the development of a sustainable marketing strategy for local farmers of the Eastern Caribbean Trading Agriculture Development Organization (ECTAD). The intern will provide support by working directly with ECTAD members including the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, National Development Foundation, and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Chamber of Industry and Commerce, to improve the quality of life of rural families through agriculture and rural development. The intern will assist in training ECTAD members in ICM and ICT.
