Host Organization Details: The intern will work with BCC on the implementation and support of their Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) and Male Peer HIV/AIDS Awareness projects. The ASRH project aims to improve young people’s ability to make informed and healthy decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. With the full involvement of parents and community leaders, the partnership will have several overarching themes, including issues of positive gender relations, empowerment of girls, poverty and HIV prevention and associated stigma.
The project will also provide parents with information and communication skills to help them better discuss ASRH issues with their children. The Male Peer HIV/AIDS Awareness project is a training of trainers program, where men are taught about HIV and AIDS and are given education and prevention tools to pass on to the male clients. As such, most of this project’s work is largely monitoring and evaluating.
